Pop of Neon & Tiaras Giveaway Winner

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

It's almost Halloween and my kids are beyond excited! I'm sure you are all having the same feelings at your homes. We have been running around all day getting the last things done before the big day. We LOVE Halloween at our house. It's a chance to play dress up as a mom...ha! I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow with your kiddos!
One of my favorite items for fall is a plain white thermal shirt. It's easy to layer and it keeps you warm. This outfit is definitely a simple one lacking color but I covered that with my new neon earrings from Hello Fab. I love them! They add a pop of color to any outfit.

It is getting pretty cold these days....I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. When winter and fall come my favorite thing ever is to wear black...I think it's because I'm in mourning since summer is over.:( But really I feel like black looks good on everyone! With this outfit I kept it real simple. Sometimes less is more. Just a fabulous statement necklace and some bright flats make any black top and jeans cute. I love blazers right now too with a casual look. It makes me feel more dressed up but still in a laid back way. Love it!

I want to thank Jamie for asking me to be part of her blog, I am a mother to 5 children and they keep us very busy. It was so kind of Jamie to ask me to be on a Stylin' Mom blog. Although I love fashion!! . . . I am also an old lady, and my fashion sense is questionable according to my teenager. I am also a photographer here in Boise and love how fashion can make or break a great picture!  I had the hardest time deciding on a pant to wear.  There are so many great styles out right now skinny, colored, bootleg jeans or capris, and then we add in leggings. I took these pictures with my sis-in-law and we had a great time giggling and strutting our stuff for these pictures!!

Hi, I'm Amber. I reside in the great northwest, I'm a mommy of two: Everett 2 1/2 and Zooey 11 months. I LOVE being a stay at home mommy.  When I'm not busy being on 'mom duty' I dabble in lots of hobbies. You can check some of them out on my blog .

My favorite fall fashion trends have got to be: animal print, boots, polka dots, big chunky scarves, chambray, and lots of layers (a necessity for those raining northwest winters)! As a mom it's important to not lose your identity, sweatshirts and yoga pants can easily become your everyday attire and lets face it, most days they are for me! Looking good and feeling good aren't just reserved for date nights. I try my best to get ready for the day, it may not always be so put together but it helps me stay sane between dirty diapers, smudgy fingers and episodes of Dora.

Chambray button up: Old Navy
White tee: Goodwill
Black skinny jeans: T.j. Maxx

Morgan from The Dime Diary

Monday, October 22, 2012

Hi everyone! My name is Morgan and I'm from the blog! I recently was happy to have Jamie guest post for me, and now I am excited to be visiting you! I am the stylin' mommy to my adorable 11 month old daughter Ava who keeps me busy and on my toes everyday. When I'm not spending every minute with her or my husband Scott, I am working as the sales director at Elase Medical Spa here in Utah. I love my family and I love my job! For that reason I have many different looks that make up my style. When I am at work I love to dress up in my favorite pencil skirts, oxford shirts, and heels. When I am at home playing with my daughter I like to keep it casual with everything from preppy gingham and boyfriend jeans to boots and comfy sweaters, like the one seen here.

As we all know, being a momma is WORK! And I like to be as comfortable as possible when I am running around, without having to sacrifice my love for fashion. I also always base my style around affordability. With the income of a young family it can seem hard to pull off, but I believe that looking cute should be and can be achievable not matter what your budget! Feel free to stop by my blog for more budget friendly fashion!

Faux Fur

Friday, October 19, 2012

So I have been looking for a cute faux fur vest for a while and didn't want to spend an arm and leg for it and I finally found one. I love it! It's my new favorite piece. Not only is fun to mix different color and patterns but it's also fun to mix different textures. Trust me you cant go wrong with anything fur right now. Weather it's a coat, vest, boots, or a scarf. It's a fun piece to spice up any outfit.
I just wanted to thank you all so much for your sweet comments and emails. I read every single one and appreciate the words of encouragement and great feedback. You are all the best! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Hello! My name is Amy and I am a wife and mother of four kids that keep me moving! I also work nights as a Sleep Technician. Since my life can get kind of crazy, I need clothes that can take me from the kid’s school, to the ball field, to a night out with the girls or my man. Almost everything in my closet can easily be dressed up or down with a quick change of shoes and accessories. My favorite fall fashion trend is combining a preppy menswear-inspired piece with other feminine pieces and accessories. So, I am in love with the classic blazer! It can be thrown over ANYTHING and is a great way to layer on a little extra warmth while staying super stylish.

Shirt: Marshalls
Jeans: Macy’s
Shoes: Macy’s
Jewelry: Target/Forever 21

*Don't forget to enter to win the Alpine Baby Hub Giveaway! Sorry everyone I must be a day ahead this week. Last day to enter is today for real this time!!:) Winner will be announced tomorrow!!

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

Hi everyone! My name is Christina and I am a mom to two crazy, fun-loving boys (ages 4 and 7). I live in Meridian, ID but I am a California girl at heart! My style is a little of everything—I like mixing up my wardrobe with classic pieces (the kind that never go out of style) and trendy ones, bright colors and fun patterns (I am a big fan of color, stripes, and animal print!), and most importantly, accessories! I am a firm believer that you can make a boring outfit—such as neutral t-shirt and jeans—totally great with fun shoes, a printed scarf (I’m obsessed with them!), and of course, some awesome jewelry (Twisted Silver is a fave)! I also love layers (thank goodness for Fall!) and think that layers add so much dimension and creativity to an outfit.

For my look on this blog, I decided to show different outfits with one of my favorite articles of clothing—my chambray/denim shirt. I have had this shirt for probably 3 years now and can’t get enough of it! It can be one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe! You can dress it up with a pencil skirt, belt, and heels, or dress it down with a cardigan or jacket, jeans (yes, denim on denim!), and cute flats or boots. And don’t forget the accessories! So, here are 4 looks that I thought would be easy for anyone to pull off:

Look #1:
Chambray shirt: GAP (old), similar here
Tunic: thrifted
Distressed belt: thrifted
Leggings: Target
Boots: Nordstrom (old), similar here
Jewelry: Twisted Silver

Look #2:
Maxi dress: Target (old)
Scarf: Banana Republic (old), similar here
Ballet flats: Nordstrom (old), similar here
Fedora: Banana Republic (old), similar here
Bangles: Twisted Silver

Look #3:
Striped blazer: J.Crew Factory (old), similar here
Jeans: Victoria Secret (old), similar here
Leopard print belt: J.Crew (old), similar here
Boots: Nordstrom (old), similar here
Jewelry: Ebay (Bubble necklace), thrifted, Stella & Dot, Twisted Silver

Look #4:
Corduroy pants: J.Crew (old), similar here
Leather belt: GAP (old), similar here
Leopard print scarf: gift, similar here
Bracelets: thrifted, Stella & Dot, Twisted Silver

Hi! My name is Claire. I am a wife, stay at home mom to a very rambunctious 11 month old girl and hair stylist on the side.  I love being a mom and I love clothes. Although it doesn't happen everyday, I always feel so much better about myself when I put the effort into getting ready and wearing a cute outfit.  But between chasing around my daughter and still fighting the North Carolina heat and humidity, my outfits have been pretty low key lately.  Boyfriend jeans and bright v neck tee, or rolled up skinny jeans with a patterned top are usually my go to's.  Whenever North Carolina decides it wants to be fall, I will be looking forward to sweaters over button ups, scarves, and my new brown riding boots. Until then it's light fabrics like this neon blouse I scored at my favorite local consignment shop for next to nothing.  I think I love a good deal just as much as I love the clothes themselves. I can't remember the last time I paid full price for an item of clothing, and why should we? Besides my watch which was a gift from my husband every item I am wearing is $17 or under.  That makes a happy girl, (and husband), and wallet.  Happy shopping!
