Bows, Beanies, and Stripes

Friday, December 21, 2012

Merry Christmas everyone!!! It's almost here and I can hardly wait to see me kids all excited on Christmas morning. It is the best part about being a mom! Seriously, all those tired nights of shopping and waiting in long lines are totally worth it when you see their cute little faces beaming!

I'm sporting my holiday sweatshirt that I love and will be sporting after holidays too... Bows are definitely the rage right now. I have my bow shirt and my cute bow ring from Hello Fab that I love! Can't go wrong with stripes and bows! It was also a crazy windy day and freezing! I don't do the sexy wind blown hair look very well so I put a hat on to keep the hair out of my face.:) Love a good beanie! I hope you all have a great Christmas with family and friends. I'm taking some time off of blogging to spend with my cute little fam until the New Year. I will see you all in 2013!!!

Moriah

Thursday, December 20, 2012

Hello Stylin’ Mommies, I’m Moriah! I am mom to the sweetest 2 boys, Camden {3} & Grayson {1}. I am married to Wesley, {my high school sweetheart}, and he is graduating from medical school this coming May! I write about all these on our blog thejoysoflove.blogspot.com. Stop by for a visit anytime!

My life is full of play dates, cooking meals, cleaning our home, dating my husband, and playing with my boys. Finding time to be “stylish” is not always easy. I try my best to shower and get ready each day, as it really helps me to feel good about myself.

I would best describe my style as easy, comfy, and cute. As much as I would love to look like I just jumped off the runway, it is so not practical for my life on a day to day basis.  When I buy clothes I really try to buy items that wash easy, wear comfy, go with just about anything, and don’t break the bank. As a Mom, we all know that our kids are important, but don’t forget, you are important too! Make it a point to do your hair, put on some make up {if you wear it}, and allow a little me time every once in a while. It will make you a better Mom if you feel good about yourself! Also, don’t forget to date your husband!! Letting your kids see how much you love each other is a great thing!

Ok, back to the style part! The outfit I am wearing here is a new favorite. I’ve been telling my husband how much I would love a pair of leather skinnies! {I’ve been seeing them all around Pinterest} Obviously, true leather would cost a pretty penny, so I promised him if I found a good “pleather” pair on sale, I would settle for those. And much to my surprise, I found them!! These beauties were on the clearance rack at Target just last week for $11! I was thrilled to find them in my size! Paired with my best “rocker” sweater and boots and I call this outfit a win!

Rosalyn

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Hello fellow fashion mommies! My name is Rosalyn. I am a mother of 4, a wife to my childhood sweetheart, an RN by night (I work nights) and a fashion blogger/lover by day. I have always been what my friends say "a crazy shopper" but never really have many opportunities to wear the things I love.  I love unique items and love color and sequins.  So while the boys are away...my daughter and I started my personal fashion blog, My Fancy Pants. It is my place where I put the scrubs away and get to dust off my Kate Spade heels and feel "fancy."  I always look for items that "pop" with color and often feel overdressed, but I refuse to be a lazy mom dresser, only wearing jeans and tennies, and wear what I love.  I hope that my style will help inspire my daughter to be herself and not be like everyone else. My mother was my fashion icon for that reason.

Some of my obsessions recently are leopard prints, boyfriend jeans, toe-cap heels, and always sequins. I rarely wear white and always stay away from anything sports attire. Come join me at www.just2fancy.com and maybe I can inspire you to be a little fancier too.

eShakti

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

I just wanted to say that my prayers are with those effected by the shootings in Connecticut. I have been thinking and praying for the families, children, teachers and responders. May you feel the love and peace of the many prayers being offered in your behalf.

This weekend was a fun-filled weekend of family and a wedding. My cousin got married and it was so beautiful and so much much fun! I love family weddings because I get to see lots of relatives and my siblings come home! My brother Jake wanted to "make the blog" so I added a picture of him....:)

I just recently was sent this dress from eShakti. They are amazing and I love their dresses! The best part about them is that they totally can customize your dress to how you like it. This dress originally was sleeveless but they give you the option of having sleeves added or the dress shorter or longer. The quality of the dress if amazing as well. It is perfect for a wedding or holiday party.

Troy Howell Cancer Fund

Friday, December 14, 2012

This time of year is so special to me. I know this blog is mainly about fashion but I couldn't let this time of year pass by without sharing why I love this time of year so much. This time of year isn't all about the cute clothes or presents.( which is still fun...) It's about sharing it with loved ones and helping each other out. I recently came across a story about a young family struggling with loosing their father/husband to his battle with cancer.  I was so deeply touched at the love this sweet family has for their father and also the love this sweet man has for his family. When he found out he had cancer it was already stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He now has limited time left with his family. I could not ignore the fact that I felt so strongly about how I could possibly help them out. So what I'm asking of you, my readers, is to please check out their blog.  Read their posts and if at all possible, donate to the family for their medical bills if you can at all. I'm sure anything you can do will help. One of my favorite quotes is...."What do we live for if not to make life easier for one another. " Reading their story will make you want to hold on to your loved ones a little tighter and love them even more. Thank you so much for reading my blog and I appreciate all of you so much! Have a Merry Christmas!

Joanne

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Hi ladies! My name is Joanne.  I’m a fifth grade bilingual teacher, wife, and mom to two amazing boys, Colter and Rowan.  I am a soccer mom with a love for fashion, and I absolutely refuse to wear "mom" jeans. Like many moms, I continue to struggle to lose my "baby" weight. The only problem is that my boys are now 15 and 12. I feel that curvy girls should not have to give up on fashion even though we do not meet society's standards of the "perfect body." My closet is color coordinated, and when I find great outfits, I print them out and post them on my closet wall. My husband thinks that’s a little crazy!!  This helps me to coordinate my outfits daily.

My sister-in-law and I created the blog, joandjessfashionblog.com.  We decided to launch a website where we could share our fashion inspirations, shopping suggestions, personal reviews, and to show you creative, budget friendly ways of recreating outfits that we see in magazines, on celebrities, or in websites. We hope to reach out to real women of all ages and sizes that experience fashion and budget dilemmas just like us!

I am obsessed with animal prints, boyfriend jeans, colored denim, and scarfs.  My favorite places to shop are Forever 21 and Ebay.  Forever 21 is a super affordable store where I purchase most of my tops, sweaters/cardigans, and blazers. I typically shop on Ebay for items that are no longer available, sold out, or not affordable in stores.

I really appreciate Jamie for allowing me to be part of her amazing blog!

Tribal Sweater

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

I am so out-of-my-mind crazy right now! Too much going on and too much to get done! I can't believe Christmas is now under 2 weeks away! I'm sure I will figure out how to get it done somehow....We are super moms and somehow we always get it done right?! For my running around I love a big sweater that almost feels like a blanket. The tribal print makes it even better too. I also recently just got these boots with a little heel that are so comfortable. They can easily be worn all day long. I may feel like a mess inside but on the outside I try to look like I have it all together....(trust me I don't!:)

Jen

Friday, December 07, 2012

Hi my name is Jen and I live in Idaho. I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have a son that is going to be 2, and we will be having a daughter this February. I work part time as a school counselor and I love my job. Working and being a mom can take up most of my time so it can be hard to take any time for yourself. I think I'm a way better mom when I take time for myself and get ready even if I'm just spending the day at home with my son.

Being almost 7 months pregnant I am into black, black, and black. I mean what pregnant girl doesn't like black to try and slim down your appearance. I love wearing a scarf with almost every outfit, not only to stay warm but also it dresses up all outfits.

Leah

Thursday, December 06, 2012

Hi, I am Leah and I am a momma of two boys, Beck (2 1/2) and Greyson (8 months).  They are my light and joy, but they keep me on my toes that's for sure!  This blog is so much fun and I am honored to be on it!  I notice when I feel good about myself and how I look, I am way more productive and generally my day goes better.  When it comes to fashion I tend to keep it pretty simple and low fuss.  I need to be able to go from playing rocket on the ground, to mopping up the spilled milk, to running errands. My favorites this season are, black stretchy pants, anything with lace, and colored skinnies.  My outfits usually start with a well-fitted sweater or simple t-shirt, colored skinnies, and then I throw on a blazer or a scarf.   To keep from breaking the bank, I tend to have a lot of inexpensive staple pieces and then I spend a little more on something that I love, like a good pair of boots.  I think a cute pair of boots can take an outfit straight from "Laundry Mommy" to "Stylin' Mommy" which is usually my goal for the day! Good luck ladies, and keep up the good work!

Chuck Taylors

Wednesday, December 05, 2012

So today I have my new kicks on. I love them. As much as I love to wear heals.... I know it's just not practical in chasing around kids all day. You can still look like you have style without the fuss of heals as long as you are creative in your shoe choices.  I am always looking for cute new shoes that are practical. As most of you probably now know if you have been following my blog, I'm not your typical J-Crew fashion blogger. I really try to find affordable, easy to wear clothes for us busy mommies; clothes you can wear out with the kids but still feel cute. I have a really hard time spending $120 dollars on a shirt or sweater my kid is probably going to barf on...:)

Taj

Monday, December 03, 2012

Hey, all! My name is Tsasa, commonly referred to as Taj. I would first of all like to thank Jamie for the honor of being featured on her blog. What an honor!

I am a 24 year old mom to three fabulous children, Aerro-4, Avoni-3, and Vienna, almost 2. Having three kids in three years has sure kept me busy but it also really enabled me to lose sight of who I am as a woman. It has only been after losing the 75lbs gained with the pregnancies that I have discovered that I am worth a few extra moments myself! I have always enjoyed fashion and this season has been so much fun for me. I would have to say my ultimate favs are what I am wearing. Bomber jackets, high/low dresses, wedge booties, legwarmers. I like classic pieces that can be easily mixed and matched!

Aside from being a mom and enjoying fashion, I really like health and food. I'm a grassroots type person. I cloth diaper, I make almost everything from scratch, I cook organic, I co-sleep and babywear. It's not a typical lifestyle but I love it. My passion is cooking healthy for my family, hence my food blog. Few things make me happier than a successful meal and a bargain find. ;-)

Jamie's blog has been so much fun to scroll through and all you mommas inspire me! Keep it up, girls. We are worth a few extra moments, too!
 Live healthy, be blessed!

~Taj
