Amanda

Friday, November 30, 2012

Hi! My name is Amanda. I’m a stay-at-home mommy to a darling one-year-old little girl. Becoming a mom has changed my life, for the better, in so many ways. I use to struggle thinking that once I became a mom, all my style had to go out the front door. I was so wrong! Now I know it’s possible, it just takes a little more effort.

Lately, I’ve tried to get out of my comfort zone and it’s been really fun! I love plaid, chunky scarves, combat boots, gold accessories and sock buns right now! And prints, they’re huge right now but one thing I’ve noticed that they can all look the same. I found these Hudson Snakeskin pants that showcase the animal print but it’s unique and subtle (which I love). Overall, I like to change it up depending on my mood. Whether it’s a blouse, colored jeans, sock bun and flats to combat boots, a plaid shirt, messy hair and a leather jacket. And it’s fun to change up my makeup and tailor it to my outfit for the day too.  It's also an easy and inexpensive way to freshen up your look and not get trapped in a boring routine.

Thanks Jamie for having me a part of your blog. You are a beautiful person inside and out and love that you have started this blog for all of us mommy’s out there!

Simple and Casual

Thursday, November 29, 2012

I love it when I can find a sweater that holds its own. When you pretty much don't have to add any accessories and you can just throw it on and go. I love the army green color too! This is just a simple put on and go outfit but we all need these some days. Today was definitely one of those day!

Corinne from The Lookbook

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Hi, friends! My name is Corinne and I write a little blog called The Lookbook. Over there, I like to get real about fashion and my life as a mommy, and prove that somehow, these two things can coexist. That being said, when my daughter Vera took over my world 6 months ago, I made it a goal to stay current with fashion and to still try. Because I find I'm a better mother to Vera when I put on my pointy-toed shoes, my pile of pearls, and maybe even a little bit of tweed. I know to some moms, this look is crazy... Perhaps maybe I am crazy. Because yes, she does pull on my necklace, and yes, sometimes she does spit-up all over my outfit. And yes, sometimes my feet do hurt. But sometimes, if even for just a moment, I feel put together and pretty. In those little moments I feel a little bit more like Corinne, who is Vera's mom, instead of just "Vera's Mom." I try to capture those pretty little moments, and those not-so-pretty moments on my blog. Thanks Jamie for letting us come visit! xo

Bib Necklace from Cheerfully Charmed

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

I am loving my new new necklace I got from Cheerfully Charmed. They have such cute jewelry and this is their darling bib necklace. It adds a pop of color to any outfit. Not that my pants didn't already add some but I love yellow! I am also really loving the maroon/oxblood color that is being sported this fall. I did end up picking up quite a few pieces in this color during my post-Thanksgiving shopping.... There is more to come with this new color of mine.... I hope everyone had a fun weekend of shopping and turkey!

Brittany

Monday, November 26, 2012

My name is Brittany and I am a young wife and mother of two little boys. I love anything having to do with home and family living including crafts, interior design, sewing, painting, art, cooking, baking, spending time with family, and playing with my 4-year-old, Jason, and my 1-year-old, Bryan.  I always seem to have a project going - it's what keeps me happy in life.  I have a blog to keep track of all my ideas at little-inspirations.blogspot.com and I sell a few of these ideas in my Etsy Little Craft Shoppe.  I'm not a super trendy person, but right now I'm loving stripes.  They're so fun!  That, and I always love mustard yellow in the fall.  It's not always easy to be cute when you're a mom, but I am always looking for fashion inspiration to help me out.  So, thank you, Stylin Mommies!

Shoes - Target
Jeans - Sevens from Marshalls
Tank - Derek Heart from Ross
Sweater - Target, Refashioned by Me (I bought it a size larger and took in a seam from the end of the sleeves all the way around to the bottom of the sweater at the waste and used the extra that I cut out to create the texture on the front by just sewing it on in a crazy pattern, in case you're interested...)
Necklace - $1 Jewelry in Tyler Texas
Earrings - From a booth at the Latin Festival in Provo Utah

Giving Thanks

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

The sun is disappearing faster and faster these days. Fall is here and winter seems like it is already approaching! Christmas music has already started and I am thinking, 'Where did this last year go?'.  It flew by! I am busting out my leather leggings once again. What can I say.... they go with just about everything and they are super comfortable. Especially when pairing it with a flowy top and some flats. I can chase my kids around all day in this. Kids don't alway have to cramp our style...:) I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and in the spirit of thanks I just want to thank all my friends, family and followers who have supported me through not only this blog but through life. We all indeed have something or someone to be thankful for. So thank you to all of you and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Karah

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Hi, My name is Karah and I am so excited that Jamie asked me to be on Stylin Mommies today!! I am a stay at home mom to a 4.5 year old boy and almost 3 year old girl. They keep me very, very busy. But  never too busy to keep up with the current styles & fashions. I strongly believe that moms can be comfortable and stylish at the same time. Some of the styles that I am LOVING right now are big statement necklaces with an all-black outfit, and blazers with distressed jeans and a chunky scarf. I could go on forever and if you want to keep up with me, you should take a look at my blog. I recently finished a 30 by 30 challenge. If you don't know what that is, you should definitely check it out!!

Rebecca

Monday, November 19, 2012

Hello.  I am Rebecca, a mother of four and the proud "Nana" to four beautiful grandchildren.  I have the exceptional privilege of enjoying dual roles of still parenting one teenager at home while enjoying all the benefits and joy of my grandchildren.  My husband and I own our own business so I have many different hats to wear as well as many different styles to go along with it.  I chose an understated outfit of a sweater and some jewelry that dressed up my jeans a little bit.  I wouldn't qualify my style as fashion forward, but I have helpful advice from my daughters in letting me know what looks good. In fact, my beautiful daughter, Kara, was featured on this blog on September 25th.  I'm most aware of what is comfortable yet flattering.  I am completely convinced that shoes, although they can make an outfit, must always be comfortable.  I'm not willing to sacrifice my comfort for a shoe!  I always feel better about how I look if I truly "feel" good.  I truly believe that anyone, at any age, can look great if they just dress to flatter their own curves and figure.

Janay

Friday, November 16, 2012

Hello! My name is Janay, and I am a stay at home mom living in Idaho. I am mom to the most adorable, nine month old, little guy named Hudson. He is so fun, but he can be a handful now that he crawls. For instance, the other day I caught him chewing on dog food… twice. Who does that? Better question… how does a stay at home mom let that happen? I mean that is my job!! Well, to answer that question I am addicted to many things that occasionally distract me- fashion being one of them. Lately, I just love adding lots of color and pattern to my outfits, hence the plaid! Fall is such a great time to layer with cute scarves and sweaters. You can’t go wrong with jeans, a fun top, scarf and a cute pair of boots. Thanks for letting me be a part of your awesome blog, Jamie! I just love your style and get great inspiration from you!

Sweaters

Thursday, November 15, 2012

I love to layer as much as possible so I don't have to wear a coat or jacket. Sometimes I don't mind wearing them but for the most part I don't really like to. A plaid shirt under my sweater keeps me nice and warm. Can you all even believe that the big holidays are just around the corner!? It is so crazy to me that it's already here! I need to start thinking about Christmas shopping already which kinda gives me anxiety! I'm sure some of you are way on top of it and have already started or are done....which if you are one of those people will you come do mine?!:)

It's a simple way to add some color, print, and style and it's a cheap way to revamp any outfit. This is such an easy outfit that any girl can pull off. Neutrals on top and splash of color on bottom. Some bright red lipstick would look fabulous too with this outfit!

Brittany Landers of Suburb Chic Blog

Monday, November 12, 2012

Hey everyone don't forget to enter in for the Vault Denim giveaway!! You have until Tuesday Night to enter! Thanks!!

Hey Ladies! My name is Brittany Landers, and I curate a womens' lifestyle blog called Suburb Chic. I've always been interested in creative writing as well as fashion, so I figured why not put them together on a fun platform to share with women like me. Suburb Chic is a term I came up with to describe a stylish way of living that is achieveable even in your down home suburb setting. Personally, my aesthetic changes with my mood, but is typically feminine and playful with just a little edge to keep it interesting. Ohh, and I love color! :) My "Suburb Chic"ness is best expressed through punches of preppy J. Crew, trend-tastic finds from TJ Maxx, and perfect fitting skinnies complemented with seasonal favorites. For Fall 2012, I'm loving my newly purchased Coach riding boots paired with slouchy sweaters, cozy scarves, and plenty of arm swag!

When I'm not blogging, I am a stay-at-home momma of two (Cameron, 4 and Natalie, 2 1/2). They are practically twins and always keep me on my toes. My husband works out of town frequently, so it's our little tater tots and I most of the time. When I have free time, I like to sweat it out at the gym, grab a local cup of coffee and chat with friends, or play piano (I'm classically trained...for real)! Aspirationally, I would like to go into a journalistic or business marketing field once our children are in school full-time. But for now, I am happy to be at home with my little nuggets and on the blogosphere with you all!

I really appreciate Jamie for having me on Stylin' Mommies, and guess what? She's going to be on my blog today as well! So, hop on over to Suburb Chic and give her some lovin'. If you're further interested in the chicest blog on the block, visit me on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, BlogLovin', and Facebook (gosh, that was a mouthful). Can't wait to see what other Stylin' Mommies are out there! xo
