Kirsten

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

I am Kirsten, a 25 year old mom of two crazy fun boys and sometimes it feels like a third with my husband. Often times it feels like being the mother of two boys overshadows all the other roles and interests in my life to the point that I forget to get dressed for the day! Maybe we've all felt that way before. This blog has been really motivating for me because there really is something about being and feeling like a better person when we feel better about ourselves.

For me, style is about tailoring to your personality and not fitting the mold of everyone else. I am a runner who loves the outdoors. I also love clothes, which means I have to be thrifty. I like colorful and floral tank tops to pair with cardigans. And let’s be honest, I just don’t get around to jewelry all that often, especially with babies pulling on dangly earrings. Often times you’ll find me in a hat and jeans, because who doesn't feel great in their best pair of jeans!?

Lyndsey

Last call ‘til fall…for boots!

Hi! My name is Lyndsey. I am a mom, a wife, and currently work as an eyelash extension specialist. I have a sweet little 9-month-old baby girl named Rowen.

Staying stylish with a busy schedule, a budget, and a baby can tricky! When I shop for clothing, I head straight for the clearance racks so I wont get tempted or look longingly at the pricey items. Occasionally, if you keep your shopping to a minimum and your prices low, you deserve to splurge on something you love and that will last a long time. For me – that means boots!

Spring is in the air, which means there is not much more time for boots until fall. This outfit is my transition outfit into spring.

I love wearing a pair of skinnys, boots, and baggy shirt. I also love jean shirts because they flare and can be added to almost any outfit, any time of the year. The necklace I am wearing is great because it can be worn with any and every color, no matter the season.

Roxanne

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Hello there lovely stylish Mamas. My name is Roxanne and I am a preschool teaching, running, coffee consuming, wife to a sweet hard working man, and mama to a loud, energetic, precious little lady. I have a little blog called the Good Life where I write about being a mommy, preschool teacher, and all the other random things going on up in my scatterbrained head. I know I am like a lot of newish moms out there who feel like they lost a little bit of their style along the way but I decided I would not go down without a fight and with a little help from Pinterest I have developed what I like to call prek-mama-chic. I am a teacher at a small Catholic school and a mommy to an extremely busy little lady, but i am not letting marker stained hands and a little dried crusty snot on my sleeves get in the way of looking cute and feeling good about myself when I walk out the door each day.

Comfort and the ability to move around are the number one qualification for any outfit I decide to throw on in the morning. My style usually consists of a lot of layering and well placed accessories to change things up especially when I feel like I am in a style rut. I am what you might call a dress-a-holic I love how versatile 1 simple black dress can be and according to my sweet husband I own 5 too many LBD's. Dress it up, dress it down, throw on a chunky beaded necklace and I can go from classroom bug catcher to meeting my husband for dinner. My favorite go to school look is a cute dress with a sweater or jacket over it, tights, and boots. I also love how I can use those same boots and jacket with a flowy top and black skinny pants for a completely different look the next day.

My shopping philosophy is "If I can't get it for under $10 I didn't really need it anyways." I am not much of a shopper and with a limited teacher salary I try to do most of my shopping at consignment shops, goodwill, and sale racks. I think bargain hunting makes shopping more of an adventure and I like knowing that it doesn't take an arm and a leg to look put together every day.I tend to buy basic neutral pieces so I can mix and match fun accessories like scarves and jewelry to change things up when I feel like I am wearing the same things over and over again. A pop of color can take any outfit from boring to exciting.

Change up the do

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

How good does it feel to get your hair done!? I feel like a new woman when I get my roots touched up. Obviously I'm not a natural blond.... It really does wonders though. So if you're feeling in a rut and don't want to spend money on clothes maybe do something fresh and new with your hair. It is something you wear everyday so investing a little time and money into can help out whatever you throw on. Trust me you will feel so much better! I know I do!

What a beautiful day!

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

It's so beautiful today and no need for big coats! YAY!! I have a fetish of sweaters/cardigans and I feel like I'm kinda in a slump of wearing them everyday! They are just so easy to wear and comfortable too. I also firmly believe in having a favorite white tee to wear. You can't beat a good white tee! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Hailey

Friday, March 01, 2013

Hi, I am Jamie's sister, Hailey, and I am excited to be on the Stylin Mommies Blog today! I am 26 years old and pregnant with my 1st baby and I am so excited! I just found out that it's a little girl and so the shopping for cute girl clothes has begun! (And Jamie has been happy to help me out!)

Being pregnant has helped me realize the importance of trying to look your best. It has been weird to see my body changing but I have realized that you can still be cute no matter what changes are happening to your body and you will feel better about yourself if you try. My style is pretty casual. I have been wearing a lot of sweaters while pregnant because they always fit :) I also have found that comfortable shoes are a must! I splurged to get these TOMS because they are SO comfortable and they help me feel like I still have style.

I am grateful for Jamie's blog because it has given me so many ideas on how to look cute while not spending much. I know that I want to raise a strong, confident daughter and I know this will be more possible if I am trying to look and be my best!
