Plaid and Pearls

Thursday, January 31, 2013

So today I'm featuring another piece of jewelry from andRuby. I really love this cute pearl necklace. I don't dress up much especially in pearls so when I saw something similar on pinterest of plaid and pearls I knew this was the look for me. It's dressed up enough with pearls but comfy with the plaid.  Total "mom wear" and I love this look. You really can't go wrong with a plaid shirt. It's a must in a stylin' mommy's wardrobe!:)

Tiffany

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Hey, my name is Tiffany! I am a mother of one active and adorable 18 month old girl and expecting another child in August. I spend my days mostly trying to keep up with her and her equally active dad. Most days I am exhausted and ready to hit the pillow but I love to be a mom; and I am lucky enough to get to spend my days with her at home.

Being a red head (Ironically I am married to a red head, almost guaranteeing all of our children will be redheads) I feel like sometimes there are certain trends and colors I can do and others that I can’t. But I enjoy having something different that sets me apart that is always with me. Even in my most bland outfits I always feel like I have a pop of color.

When it comes to style, like most moms, comfort and ease is the most important to me. I have to be able to bend over a million times and get down on the ground or climb around on a playground in an outfit. I love accessories and try to at least put on one accessory every day. My preferred and favorite outfit of choice is a casual t-shirt, shorts, and a pair of sandals.

I love that Jamie has taken on this project to help moms feel beautiful and encourage us to look our best and feel our best. She helps us remember style doesn’t have to be hard it can be fun and easy.

Natasha

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Hey everyone I’m Natasha - My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years. I’m a stay-at-home-mom and I also work from home. I have 3 crazy little kids who drive me crazy some days, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love them to death and love being a mother. I have a son who is 6 and two little girls, 4 years and 10 months. Lets just say I stay busy, but doesn't every mother? The last 6 months I have worked really hard to lose the baby weight so I can be comfortable in my own skin again and get my self-confidence back. I’m not one of those mommies who lose their baby weight right away. I have to work my butt off! But hey that is ok. I’m almost to my goal weight. I love to work out because it is a stress reliever for me. When I feel good about myself I want to dress the part and I’m a much happier mom. It is hard staying home and working from home not to wear sweat pants all day. I’m not the most stylish mom, but I do try to look nice. I’m not one who likes to spend a lot of money on my clothes and myself. I like to find good deals. Right now I really like skinny jeans and the layer shirts look because it has been so cold here and I like to be comfortable in a cute way! With this outfit I’m showing two different styles of ways you can look with just switching out your shoes. I love this blog and seeing so many different options of style. Like so many others have said on here when you look good you feel better and are a better mom and wife! So thanks Jamie for taking your time to put this awesome blog together.

Hey all!  It's Friday!  I love the weekends.  Now if this cold weather would just go away...

Anyway, today I'm showing off my new eyelash extensions.  I  got them done by a friend here locally. Her name is Elise and she runs Elise's Luscious Lashes.  I'm sorry that a lot of you mommies won't be able to take advantage of Elise's promotional offer because you don't live in the Boise, Idaho area but I wanted to let those in the area know how to get a good deal on some great lashes.  Here is a little info about Elise:

I think that every mom deserves to look and feel their best everyday! That is why I absolutely love doing eyelash extensions. I am now offering my services in the Boise, Idaho area. The great thing about eyelash extensions is that you do not ever have to wear mascara again! You wake up and you already look like you have makeup on. You instantly feel like a movie star! I only use the best product. The lashes I use are not from Sally's, they are special mink eyelashes that they use in Vegas and Hollywood for all the stars.  Jamie recently got lashes on, and they look fabulous on her! Check out my blog http://www.eliseslusciouslashes.blogspot.com and my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/eliseslusciouslashes

Jessica

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Hello everyone, my name is Jessica and I'm a stay at home mom to a beautiful/crazy three year old named Aven and I'm an Air Force wife. I married my high school crush and life has been crazy since the day we had our first date back in 2008. He has moved me to five different states in just a few short years and I can only imagine we will move plenty more, thats just life in the Air Force. Most recently we moved to North Dakota and lets just say I'm not a fan. Its very flat and very freezing!!! Most days the high is between -3 and 3 degrees. And with the wind chill, the temperature is usually -10. Just the other day it was -29. Not the most perfect weather to by a stylish mommie but I do my best.

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with a very active boy. This time around my baby bump is extremely low which has made it impossible to wear my regular pants, even with a belly band. I am stuck with leggings, yoga pants and maternity pants. I found a great pair of maternity leggings at the store here on base and they have been a real lifesaver. I love flats and cute sandals but with the weather like it is here, I am really loving my studded brown boots and my leopard ugg boots. I don't wear a lot of jewelry just because my daughter loves to try to steal anything that's hanging from my neck or on my wrist. I do love my diamond earrings though that look very vintage. They are simple and classy. I love scarves!!! I have always been...well...a little top heavy and a scarf just helps me to kind of hide those. I hope I'm not the only one with that problem. When I shop, I usually go to Down East Basics, TJ Maxx and Target. I love simple, modest clothes that I can dress up or down, depending on my daily activities.

I think being a stylish mommie creates a fun atmosphere at our house. When I feel good about myself, the house seems to look a lot better. And like my husband says, a happy wife makes a happy life. Being pregnant this second time has really taken a hit on my self esteem. This last summer I lost most of my hair due to chemotherapy. In my eyes, looking pregnant and being bald was the worst it could get. I have learned a great lesson on the importance of feeling good about myself no matter how I look. And now I am kind of having fun with the short, funky hair style I have. I've adapted to a much more simple look because I know its so much more me. I have often tried to do the very dressy look on a regular basis and I find it quite exhausting. I'm a mommie and wife first and I am really happy with that. Thanks so much Jamie for creating such a great blog for moms to come and celebrate all kinds of different looks and styles! It's really inspiring and uplifting to know that moms can be stylish, even if it's just for a trip to the store!!! Xoxo!!!

Natalie

Monday, January 21, 2013

Hi! I'm Natalie - Mother to two crazy fun boys, and one sweet little princess. I spend my days playing REF to my 7 and 5 year old boys, stepping on Legos, wiping up spills, playing "kitchen" with my 2-year-old girl, singing, dancing, changing diapers, watching 'My Little Pony', car pooling kids to school...sports...etc. My number one priority is being comfortable! I try to find clothes that are cute and fun, but also clothes I don't have to tug on to make modest. I love skinny jeans and big shirts that hide the mom "roll over". I have discovered a cute necklace can make any outfit! If I have no time to do my hair...I throw on some earrings so it looks like I tried! Sandals and flip flops are my shoe of choice, but being that it is winter...I have to do the boot thing. I LOVE the idea of this blog! I think it is so important to "try" everyday. I love seeing the outfits other moms put together...I get so many great ideas. Looking good = feeling good! I am 100% a better mom when I feel good about myself:)

Dressin' up a T-Shirt

Friday, January 18, 2013

I love a cute blazer!  I feel like you can dress them up or down so easily. More people would probably put the blazer in the category of dressing up or office attire. Well since the office for me is home with 2 crazy kids changing diapers and being the referee.  I choose to dress it down...:) You would be surprised what adding a blazer to an old t-shirt and sneakers would do. It takes any outfit up a notch. Hope you all have great weekend!

Crazy Pants

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

We are half way through the week. I feel like sometimes as a mom you are counting down the days till you have some help from the husband and some free time with the weekend. A break from the day-to-day chores and duties of being a stay-at-home mom. It is hard work but definitely worth it when you hear your sweet one-year-old saying "mom" or "hold you". It's definitely the little things that make life great! So here is to Friday coming faster... and the weekend lasting longer!:)

Karen from My Chic Bump

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Hello ladies! Karen here. Mrs. to the most incredible, caring man, mommy to two dreamy little girls, and founder of MyChicBump.com a styling blog for all mommies and mommies-to-be.

A little bit about myself ... My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years (we'll be celebrating our anniversary next week! Woohoo!). I like to tease him and tell everybody I married my Facebook stalker, which is not very far from the truth. Haha! We have a beautiful, very energetic 2-year-old with the longest eyelashes you have ever seen (sadly, she gets it from her daddy and not me). Just last month, we welcomed another baby girl into our family and are very much enjoying being parents of two. I love spending my time writing stories, reading, watching over my husband’s shoulders as he cooks away in the kitchen pretending to take notes hehe but really I’m just there to steal a taste. I love pretending I know a thing or two about décor and DIY projects but what I love the most is being a wife and a mother. There is nothing more rewarding nor more enjoyable than spending time with my family and building everlasting memories with them.

At MyChicBump, women can find flattering tips and tricks I've learned while carrying my own baby bump and I'm happy to announce that I'll be expanding the blog to include fitness, beauty and kids' fashion. To learn more on how we will be transitioning from bump to baby, visit us here.

While I was still pregnant, one of my favorite outfits to wear was this long striped tunic from H&M. Elongating your torso is a great way to balance your temporary increase in width. Add a belt to create a distinction between your bust and your belly, highlighting your best assets. I paired it with black leather leggings for a little extra flare. If leather is not you're thing, there are plenty of equally great-looking black leggings at any budget.

Good Old Target

Monday, January 14, 2013

This has been the coldest winter since I can remember. It is crazy. A nice vacation some place warm sounds pretty good about now. :) I have recently mentioned a new website I am working with called andRuby. I love my new teardrop earrings from them. If you haven't checked them out yet you definitely should. They have so much cute new jewelry daily at great prices! So have I ever announced to you all how much I love Target? They are the bomb. I love it when I find cute clothes that are a fraction of the cost compared to designer clothes. I am always looking for a good deal and Target seems to pull through... I don't know what It is about my obsession with wedge sneakers but I just love them and thank you Target!

Hi, my name is Christine.  I'm a stay-at-home mom of two boys ages 8 and 5.  I love this blog.  It's so fun to be a part of it.

I get so excited when the weather gets cold because I LOVE to wear boots!  I especially like the look of skinny jeans with boots.  (Either ankle booties or my riding boots.)  And the more buckles the better.

Too much Snow!

Thursday, January 10, 2013

Sorry for the the last couple of days of no posts. I have been not feeling so great so getting ready was not a huge priority. Unless you all wanted to see me in sweats and bed head....which is a scary site!

I love big sweaters in the winter. This sweater has been on my blog before worn by another Stylin' Mommy but I have it too and it's a favorite and I thought I would post it still. Also I love my new bracelets from andRuby. They have new items listed almost every day at great prices. And of course you can't go wrong with a simple clutch from Hello Fab. LOVE IT!  We have had quite a bit of snow dumped on us the last couple of days. Did I mention I hate the cold?!
