  3. Any tips on how to do this with thinner hair? Mine is so slippery that when I tease it, it just goes flat shortly after. I have a feeling I'd have to load on the hairspray to give it some grip, but that makes it really crunchy.

    1. The product really does make such a big difference! The root pump that I talked about works awesome and they hairspray does not give that crunchy feeling. You could also try some type of gel in your hair too. Hope this helps!!

    2. I have very fine thin hair as well and I use the same Root Pump (I saw it at Target last time I was there but I get it through a local beauty supplier) and I use Kenra volume 25 hairspray. It has great hold but without that crunch texture and it really lets you keep movement and holds everything in place. LOVE it! Just try not to pull all your back combing out when you smooth the top over, that is what happens to me often since my hair is so thin. Good luck!

  4. Ahh Thank you. That was really helpful! I bleach my hair a lot too so I'm going to try the Big 10. Do you also get the second product you mentioned (the foam) through your stylist?

  5. has the Utah big hair poof made a comeback? or it just hasn't died off yet...? lol. you are such a beautiful woman! the ratty, big, box shaped POOF hair-do trend isn't doing you any favors. I think your hair looked so much better before you teased it all up. aside from that, i think your outfits are awesome. i come here often to get outfit inspiration!

    1. I have had lots of emails requesting how I do my back combing, so there is obviously some of us who still like a little poof. I'm not even from Utah.:) What can I say I just love me some big hair!! I'm glad you still like my outfits though....thanks for the feeback!

  8. I hate that someone had to put something negative on this. I LOVE your hair! So darn cute! And that style is so in right now atleast in Louisiana it is!! Any advice on how to do that type of back combing with thick, long, smooth hair? I would love to get more volume in mine but it seems like everytime I back comb and spray it the weight & smooth texture work against me and it ends up flat by the end of the day. Any other products you think could work for me?

    1. Thank you so much! Your so sweet! Thicker hair is a lot heavier so it's harder to get the back combing to stay. I think just using some good product and doing multiple layers of back combing will help. Using a good gel might help too so you can get a better grip on the hair. Good luck!

  10. I just have to share a product that I recently found called "Powder Play" by Big Sexy Hair. It comes in a small bottle and you can buy it at ULTA or any similar store. It comes out as a powder that you sprinkle on the roots and then "rustle" it with your fingers and like magic...you have volume! The best part is it will last several days (until your next wash). If the volume begins to go away, you just re-do the magic by rustling it again. It also helps keep the "oil" down so your hair looks cleaner for longer. I have always had super fine, oily hair. This has been a true miracle! If you have fine hair, give it a shot. (I've spent SO much money over the years on products to add volume and now this is the only thing I use other than my comb and hair spray.) Thanks for sharing your tutorial, Jamie!!

  12. Hey girl, I have a question about your color - How often do you get it highlighted and does your hair stylist use foil or simply rub the color throughout your whole head?
